Ghana’s popularly acclaimed dancehall Shatta Wale has finally dropped his much anticipated Extended Playlist (EP) dubbed ‘The Manacles of A Shatta’ in the wee hours of Friday, 17th April, 2020.  The six (6) track project featured no other artiste but had productions from Beat Boy and Paq.  This is certainly one the Shatta Movement family will groove to. The Student Representative Council(SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) have led a fearless campaign against school authorities in relation to e-learning procedures. According to the SRC the e-learning system disfavours a larger proportion of the student body especially students in rural localities. The SRC are of the view that in order for this e-learning system to be a successful one,the school authorities have to certain measures in place. DETAILS: TWO (2) CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES RECORDED AT THE ASHANTI BEKWAI

Deckertheblogger can confirm that the Bekwai Municipal Hospital in the Ashanti Region has recorded its first  case of the novel covid-19 virus infection with two patients testing positive to the virus. The results of these two were received in the early hours of Friday, 10th April 2020. Contact tracing was consequently carried in apt response to the development and all possible contacts duly identified. Even though some of the possible contact were noted to be at significantly reduced risk. Some staff of the hospital are currently under either mandatory or voluntary quarantine as results of their respective tests is expected. According to a reliable source, the hospital’s hierarchy has put in place adequate measures to ensure that the physical and psychological needs of affected staff are efficiently catered for. 2 NEWLY CONFIRMED COVID-19 PATIENTS AT OLD FADAMA ON THE RUN

Two persons are on the run after testing positive for the novel coronavirus at Old Fadama, a suburb of Accra. These individuals, who were confirmed to have been infected by the virus are yet to be reached by contact tracers three days after confirmation of their status. Contact tracers have encountered difficulties convincing the patients to comply with isolation protocols and have since fled the neighbourhood since their test results came in on Monday, April 6, 2020. “It was really difficult getting them so they called in security to help but since then, these persons have been away from the community. Each time they call, they either ignore or pick up and say they are far away from the area,” head of Joy News ’ Health Desk, Fred Smith said on the Midday News. SOLDIER SHOOTS POLICEWOMAN ON COVID-19 DUTY AT TEMA NEWTOWN

A soldier on COVID-19 duty has allegedly shot a policewoman whom he was on duty with at Tema New Town in the Tema Metropolis of the Greater Accra Region. The incident happened Thursday morning but it is unclear what might have provoked the action. The policewoman, a lance corporal, is said to have sustained injuries on the lower part of her leg and was rushed to the Tema General Hospital, where she is responding to treatment. VIDEO: SUDAN MINISTER OF HEALTH SLEEPS AND SNORES ON LIVE TV INTERVIEW

In what appears to be a rare and inexplicable event, the Minister of Health for Sudan is captured falling into a deep sleep and snoring out loud while undertaking an interview in a live broadcast on television. The minister suddenly fell so deeply asleep that he was imperceptible to the numerous calls for his attention by the hostess of the interview. Many have surmised that it may have been due extreme fatigue and enormous sleep deprivation as a result of the tireless efforts of the gatekeepers of health across the globe in this trying moments of fighting the Covid-19 pandemic. A couple of others have also raised questions about the health of the minister while wondering whether he may be narcoleptic. It is unclear what may have caused what may have led to this event.

RAPPER CHYNNA DEAD AT 25

GHANAIAN INVENTS AUTOMATED HAND WASHING MACHINE TO FIGHT COVID-19 OUTBREAK

A strikingly impressive effort by a Ghanaian to help prevent the spread of the corona virus as he invents a solar powered automated hand washing machine that enables thorough hand washing without surface contact. So this was done with a recycled barrel with a sink placed inside it. The system which has a solar panel placed at top of it from which the system is powered. The systems operates using sensors that detect hands ready for wash. This makes it easier and convenient to wash hands without contact with the surface of any part of the machine, especially the tap. And hence prevents the spread of microbes including the novel covid-19 virus, from one person to the other. While we continue to hope for better days devoid of the darkness surrounding the Covid19 pandemic, the overwhelming boredom of many continues to be demonstrated in diverse manner across the various social media platforms. One of these shows of boredom was the case of an instagram user with account name, ‘Slims Nation’ asking ladies to dance naked for a  20k Naira prize. Well, you were not right if you thought no one was up for this challenge as a number of ladies showed up on his live feed dancing naked as challenged. This drew varying reactions from social media users, with some registering their displeasure at the actions of the ladies while others remained indifferent. Others also attempted to explain the motive of both ‘Slims Nation’ and these ladies. The actual motivation of both parties, however, remained unclear.
