THESE PHOTOS OF BEADED AFRICAN WAISTS WILL MAKE YOU FALL IN LOVE WITH WAIST BEADS

Image
Photo Credit: @TheMofeoluwa, Twitter The culture of adorning the waist with beads for varying reasons is not uncommon among the females of several tribes in Africa. This practice is actually many generations old.  Usually enshrouded underneath the dress of a lady are waist beads which may come in different colours and sizes. As often as is the case, these beads are kept hidden. It is however the case that, occasionally, one may come across a lady whose waist beads are ostensibly on display. On other occasions, the beads may randomly and beguilingly glint at an onlooker. Be that as it may, the charm of a woman in beads practically remains irrefutable. Traditionally, the waist bead holds much essence to the woman including but not limited to it being a symbol of femininity and sensuality as well as a measure of weight. In recent times though, women mostly wear these beads primarily for its appeal in beauty and style.  In a twitter thread started by a Nigerian twitter u

IT'S BEEN 12 YEARS SINCE I LAST ATTENDED CHURCH - RAPPER DISCLOSES

Image
Ghanaian rapper, Kofi Mole has revealed that the last time he went to church was in 2007. The new hiphop sensation made this interesting disclosure in a viral video we chanced on, on the internet, in which he was being interviewed by Zionfelix. In this video, he claims he dropped out of school in level 300 but never dropped out of church. However, some things  just pull him away from going to church. In 2017, I celebrated 10 years of being absent from church. "I think the major  reason I didn't go to church was because of music but deep within me I pray," he said. The rapper is currently promoting his EP, 'Aposor Love', which is making waves since its release about a month ago. WATCH KOFI MOLE FULL INTERVIEW WITH ZIONFELIX

5 SONGS BY GH ACTS THAT WILL INSPIRE YOU FROM ALL KINDS OF LOWS

Image
There is barely a hard and fast rule that determines whether a song is inspirational or not. This is because the  interpretation of music is largely a subjective experience and also due to the fact that what inspires people varies greatly. Generally, you know that which inspires when it sparks that unique kick of inspiration deep down within you.  That notwithstanding, there are some songs that have undeniably fueled feuds among some people. Such is the case of some tracks that have sparked varying levels of hope in their listeners.  Check out these 5 tracks by GH Hip Hop acts that will stir in you so much hope. And yes, you'll barely come across them on your fave radio and television channels.  1. E.L - 12.12.12 Ft. Adoma 2017 brought unto us this marvellous inspiration off the B.A.R 4 album. This is pure inspiration, beautifully articulated in the perfect blend of Adomaa's melodious voice and E.L's impeccable flow and rich lyricism. The masterf

KWAW KESE PERFORMS AT THE REIGN CONCERT AMIDST BOOS AND 'FLYING' BOTTLES

Image
Kwaw Kese was one of the several big names that pulled a surprise appearance at this year's Reign Concert held at the Fantasy Dome.  This surprise was however met with some form of hostility from a section of the Shatta Movement (SM) dominated audience as the King of the Street was booed by some SM fans, with some others hurling bottles of water at him while performing his hit track, 'Dondo'.  Regardless of what was happening, Kwaw Kese went on to complete his energetic  performance as he appeared unfazed by the incident.  In the latter months of last year, the rapper engaged the SM king in a lyrical banter which spanned for a couple of months. Many believe the incident at the 2019 Reign Concert may have been against this backdrop.  Be it as it may, the presence of Kwaw Kese at the concert is a strong indication of peace between these two big wigs in the Ghanaian music industry. FANTANA FORGETS HER LYRICS ON STAGE

Image
It's been another bad day in the office for Rufftown Records Signee, Francine Nyanko Koffi with the stage name, Fantana, as she appeared to have forgotten her lyrics in the middle of a performance at the 2019 Reign Concert on Sunday.  This is the artist's second outing since signing for the record label, with her first, at this year's Tidal Rave, earlier in July, also being characterised by a lacklustre display. Fantana was performing her popular song, 'So What', when she forgot her lyrics, to the surprise of the audience. Again, she failed to put in a strong performance, overall.  Hopefully she gets better in the outings to come. Watch excerpt of performance of Fantana at The Reign Concert '19

"I'M STILL A VIRGIN" - SISTA AFIA

Image
Ghanaian Afrobeat act, Francisca Gawugah, known in showbiz as Sista Afia has disclosed that she is still a virgin.  The 28 year old Ghanaian-born British and niece of renowned Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams, made this claim on Thursday, in an interview on the 'truth game' on YFM in Kumasi. Her claim came as a surprise of the hostess probably because the Jeje and Weather hitmaker's career has largely been characterised by explicitness. She further hinted of the release of her next album which features big names like Sarkodie, Victor AD and Shatta Wale in 2020.

INTERNATIONAL AWARD WINNING CAMEROONIAN JOURNALIST APPLAUDS LJ FOR MOMENT OF TRUTH

Image
International award winning Cameroonian freelance multimedia journalist, Ekong Blaise Okie The release of the 'Moment of Truth' cypher has been met with widespread positive reactions from a section of Cameroonians on social media. One of these is the reaction by Yaounde based international award winning multimedia journalist, Eyong Blaise Okie, who took to twitter to express his admiration for the amazing effort the intelligent rapper put into the cypher. The reputable freelance journalist for the Reuters, CNN, BBC, Aljazeera and the likes, described the cypher as a well researched piece while bemoaning the weak and phoney replies from his compatriot rappers, few moments after the drop of M.O.T. "Lyrical Joe delivered a well-researched piece with a #Ghanaian accent. A few moments later am listening to all sorts of weak replies from #Cameroonian rappers who are struggling to pass a local message with an American accent which they do not have", Eyong

LYRICAL JOE UNLEASHES HIS LAST TO DROWN CAMEROONIAN RAPPERS

Image
After taking several shots from Cameroonian rappers through the week for remarks in his 'My Way' cypher, LJ has released what he claims is his last in this lyrical war. The new cypher titled, 'Moment of Truth' (M.O.T), was dropped on Saturday and has received massive compliments from both Ghanaians and some Cameroonians on social media. As notable of the lyrical beast, M.O.T is characterised by sumptuous flow and riddled with so much knowledge about politics in Cameroon as well as the Cameroonian rap industry. The pen battle started about a fortnight ago after Kamer rapper, Jovi, threw shots at Naija and GH rappers, M.I and Sarkodie, respectively, as he claimed to be the best in Africa. LJ couldn't have found a better way to close this chapter in his book than with this Moment of Truth. Watch Moment of Truth below:
