DETAILS: TWO (2) CONFIRMED COVID-19 CASES RECORDED AT THE ASHANTI BEKWAI
Deckertheblogger can confirm that the Bekwai Municipal Hospital in the Ashanti Region has recorded its first case of the novel covid-19 virus infection with two patients testing positive to the virus. The results of these two were received in the early hours of Friday, 10th April 2020.
Contact tracing was consequently carried in apt response to the development and all possible contacts duly identified. Even though some of the possible contact were noted to be at significantly reduced risk.
Some staff of the hospital are currently under either mandatory or voluntary quarantine as results of their respective tests is expected.
According to a reliable source, the hospital’s hierarchy has put in place adequate measures to ensure that the physical and psychological needs of affected staff are efficiently catered for.
It is interesting to note that, the Bekwai Municipality is not part of Greater Kumasi and hence not under the President’s declared lockdown.
Management of the hospital has however assured the inhabitants of Bekwai and it’s environs of their safety. There’s currently considerable calm in the area.
