CHAOS: MP FARTS IN PARLIAMENT AS SITTING IS DISRUPTED
By Jeremy Decker
There was chaos in a Kenyan parliament as members took time to call out each other for a sudden stale steam of an odour that had robbed the chamber off its natural freshness.
The incident occurred in the Homa Bay county assembly on Wednesday after one of the lawmakers blamed a colleague of 'polluting the air'.
The MP who appeared to be mainly at the end of the blame however denied being responsible and intimated that "I cannot do such a thing in front of my colleagues", reports in the Kenyan media accounted.
The chamber was quickly freshened with air fresheners following the speaker's order.
"Get whatever flavour you will find in any office, whether it's vanilla or strawberry", the speaker ordered.
"Let the sergeant spray the air with fresheners to make it pleasant", he further added.
The sitting saw an estimated 10 minute hiatus as the speaker ruled that they couldn't proceed in an environment that smells that bad.
The air fresheners indeed proved effective in tackling the issue.
The lack of shade at market stalls was the issue that was being deliberated upon prior to the unpleasant break in proceedings.
