195/195: MEET FIRST BLACK WOMAN TO VISIT EVERY COUNTRY IN THE WORLD

Passionate traveller, Cynthia Nabongo becomes the first black woman to have visited every country in the world after visiting Seychelles, on the coast of East Africa, on Sunday, 6th October, 2019.

The American of Ugandan decent made this known in an Instagram post on Sunday. "Welcome to the Seychelles!! Country 195 of 195!" the post read. "So much to say but for now I will just say thank you to this entire community for all of your support. This was our journey and thanks to all of you who came along for the ride!!" she added.

In capping this amazing feat, buddies and families joined the fray in Seychelles to lionise her success.

In all, Nabongo accomplished this in two years. As at March, she had visited 157 countries, she revealed in an interview on Good Morning America (GMA).

At age 4, Jessica Nabongo who is based in Detroit, travelled to Canada and by age 18, she had also travelled to Jamaica, the United Kingdom and Uganda - which is where her parents hail from. Aside the U.S passport, she has a Ugandan  passport which helped her to enter countries that were not welcoming to American tourists.

Even though she first conceived this idea in February 2017 - a period where she had already visited 60 countries - she  remained mute about her plan initially, for fear of being beaten to the record  she had set out to set as she had earlier researched into it and realised she was going to be the first black woman to  achieve that goal.

"I didn't want anyone to beat me to it," she said.

She went public with her passionate pursuit about a year after conception, in March 2018.

Completing her mission on October 6 happened to be very significant to her, particularly because it coincides with her late dad's birthday.
