EMOTIONAL: "ARSENAL WILL FOREVER BE IN MY HEART" - ALEX IWOBI

Newly signed Everton midfielder on Friday night took to twitter to bid the Arsenal fraternity an emotional farewell via a love letter following his departure from his boyhood club.

The talented Nigerian player seized the opportunity to express how much of a dream it had been for him to be associated with the Gunners. "I grew up dreaming of playing for Arsenal, following in the footsteps of my heroes. I'm proud to say that at 23 I've achieved one of my dreams. From playing for Arsenal kids to 149 senior appearances", he wrote.

He further added that, "Arsenal will forever be forever in my heart."

The letter appeared to have stirred some heartfelt emotions in the lot that read it, especially the Arsenal faithfuls, with former teammate Reiss Nelson replying with misty eyes.

The letter was later published on the Arsenal FC's verified twitter timeline about an hour after the player posted it.

Iwobi debut outing with Everton comes of on Saturday afternoon, away to Crystal Palace. He'll visiting his first love at the Emirate stadium in Matchweek 27 in February next year and you'll definitely fancy a rousing welcome for Alex after such an emotional expression of love and respect.
